In the same spirit than the previous dissolve snippet, a custimized shader to achieve material transition :

Really cool! You also changed the shader reflection model! =D>
I wish this could be done with ops without extra coding... Possible solution might be to use Aux, but it's a bit different... :-k Still trying ](*,)

what do you mean ?

Yes maybe, but I think it is easiest with shader code :p, you have access to all map you want to mix (specular, normal, emissive...)

what do you mean ?

The initial material is not reflective (lambert) and the ice has reflections (phong).

It's always easier to code something if you know how to do that ;)

yes, the initial material is not mixed with the phong, and the second yes (and normal map too)

snow test.

I don't remmber how to drop particles on a surface, any idea ?

Using SPH is the first thing that comes to mind. As I can see, Colliders behave weird when the source of the particles is bigger than them...

Yeah! Cool stuff, man :). I wish that every cube could show different snow pattern...

good idea with sph, thanks.

yes I tried to random pattern of every cube, but they seems to use the same material instance...

By the way, Const can use instances, but I can't figure how to use that to any advantage...

I like that one. I would choose some other font though ;) You can as well create a realistic snow cover by using Marching Cubes. Metaball POWER!!! :))

Really cool effect! And name for demo - Frozen =)
PS. ikam can do snowflake with only one text operator =)

yes, symbols poweer. You can even make mesh with text3d :), try to copy past that : ☻ ☺
