Shadow Matte!

Shadow Matte!

Postby Skinnytorus » Thursday, 16.May 2013, 11:02

Hey guys.
I unintentionally came across the shadow matte effect. I don't know how it may be used in wz engine to any advantage,
but anyway, it's a nice find imho. So, enjoy! :)

Hey! If I get you right, it's not about the soft shadows thing ;). It's about compositing i.e. the "shadow matte" imho is a transparent material showing only shadows cast upon it by other objects. This material is primarily used as a shadow catcher (fake ground) for 3d objects imported into a still photograph or a video clip. Do I get your simplified version right? Were you after just a soft shadow?
