Here is a quick tip on how to fake the 'particle color from texture' effect.

Thanks, bro. I wish the particle count available was a bit higher though ;). GPU particles will rule the world! :)))

Very nice effect!
I wounder - if it possible to invert annimation? Flying particles became a plane or cube?

Nice shot :)
I still have no idea on how to reverse the explosion, but I've written a couple of small scripts to ramp down the Wobble.
Have a look.
PS Maybe you should use Debris for that sort of trick.

Edit: added a less complicated version with animated phase.
