[fixed] fr033MeteorShowerSim - flickering water surface!

Postby Skinnytorus » Tuesday, 15.October 2013, 17:22

Hi,
Fr033MeteorShowerSim + fr033WaterSimRender produce a flickering water surface. This is fixed by changing any parameter in the particle system. I think it's a bad init issue. Could you please take a look? Thank you.

Edit: If you disconnect meshes from Group 3d - you'll get crash on showing this setup. Too bad... :(
Edit1: FYI, the disconnect mesh crash is fixed by adding a Dummy object instead of meshes on Group 3d input. Anyway, some fix is needed.
Edit3: After restarting wz4 the setup with Dummy crashes wz. Bad init, I guess...

Ok I fixed crashes in both operators + add some changes :

- you can now use Fr033MeteorShowerSim without group3d and without any mesh
- you can use fr033WaterSimRender without any dancers

many thanks, but the flickering of water still exists. :(

Confirmed. Working! =D>

- you can use fr033WaterSimRender without any dancers

Sorry, can't see what you mean. WaterSimRender still requires all the old inputs.

Yes it requires input, but you can set dancer parameter to 0. (before it was limited to 1 minimum)

But what about the flickering? Have you found out what's going on?

It's definitly a renderer's init problem. It stops flickering if I only click in any field of any op below the texture op. I think it makes sense to check init values of the WaterSimRender. MeteorShowerSim works fine with other renderers.

fixed. It was a problem of indice buffer type in the geometry.
