Nice one Skinnytorus but i think it´s to complicated. The second example isn´t working but why are two corners not rectangular?

There is a problem with your mesh, look at example.

erbsen yeah, ikam is right. the second example shows wrong geometry because you just transformed the verts instead of extruding faces. That is why the corners lack verts which are created using extrusion and not transform. A nice example is the first one though. Very simple indeed Thanks.
