Anyone know how to fix polar coordinates on the sphere?

It depends on what you are trying to achieve. Have a look into the file - there are several ways you can deal with the problem. First off try to increase Segments number in the Sphere operator.

Addict uses other default UVs for sphere primitives. You could experiment with TransformEx and Retexturizer though...
