A good idea, man. Maxing out the Sparcle direction speed for the SplinedParticles looks promising!
I will play more with it. Many thanks for the tip!
P.S. This will keep me busy while waiting for your physx particle implementation. ;)

This method works ok for uniform projectile meshes, but fails for scaled ones.
Random chunk Direction doesn't follow spline tangents... :(
